Glass repairs for timber window frames

If the frame work is timber you should expect the back putty to be removed when it’s reglazed and new putty replaced. 

The inside of the frame work needs to be primed with a water based primer to prevent the new putty from cracking over time and the finished outside edge should also be finished with putty. 

The result is longevity of the completed work.

The team at Mr Glass use a small planer on the outside edge of the timber to leave you with a nice smooth straight edge.

If your timber windows are rimu or stained timber colour can be applied to the putty to match it.
